Set up WiFi on the 4-inch panel
Connect the panel directly to WiFi in the settings. Available from app version 1.2.14 onwards.
Your panel downloads app updates over WiFi. From app version 1.2.14 onwards, you connect it directly in the settings without leaving the REVOTION interface. This guide shows you how using the "Camper-WiFi" network as an example.
What you need
- A 4-inch panel with app version 1.2.14 or newer. You'll find the version in the side menu under
- A WiFi network in range: your home WiFi, campground WiFi, or your smartphone's hotspot.
- The password for that WiFi network.
Open Settings
Open the side menu by tapping the three lines at the top left.
Scrolle nach unten bis zum Bereich „Allgemeines“ und tippe auf Einstellungen.
Tap the
Ganz oben steht die Gruppe „Verbindung“. Die erste Kachel heißt WLAN.
It shows what the panel is currently connected to: the network name, "Not connected", or "Off".
Tap the tile.
Select network
The panel searches for networks in range and displays them as a list, strongest first.
- A lock on the right means: The network is password-protected.
- Open networks show No password.
- If your network is missing, tap Search again.
- Tap your network, in this example
Enter password
A dialog opens saying "Connect to Camper-WiFi", and the keyboard appears.
Enter your WiFi password. Pay attention to uppercase and lowercase letters.
Die Tastatur verdeckt die Schaltfläche „Verbinden“. Tippe auf den Haken unten rechts, um die Tastatur zu schließen.
For a network without a password, you can skip this step and the next one. It goes straight to the Android confirmation.
Connect
Now you see the input field and the button below it.
- ① The password is hidden in the field. The eye on the right shows it in plain text if you want to check it.
- ② Tap Connect.
Save network
Android asks once: "Save this network?"
Tap Save. Only then will the panel connect.
This confirmation comes from Android, not from the REVOTION interface. If you tap Cancel, the network won't be saved.
Check connection
You're back in Settings. After a few seconds, the WiFi tile will show your network name.
The WiFi symbol appears in the status bar at the top right.
The panel remembers the network and will connect to it automatically in the future.
If the tile still shows "Not connected", read the "If something doesn't work" section.
If WiFi is turned off
If the tile shows "Off", the panel's WiFi is turned off.
- Tap the tile and then tap Turn on WiFi.
- An Android window opens. Turn on WiFi there and tap Done.
- After that, the panel will show the networks in range, and you can continue with Step 3.
If something doesn't work
- Your network is missing from the list: Tap Search again. If that doesn't help, move closer to the router or open a hotspot with your smartphone.
- Your iPhone's hotspot doesn't appear: On your iPhone, enable
