Set up a weekly schedule
Switch devices and scenes at fixed times: create an appointment, read the plan, and manage appointments.
With the weekly schedule, your system switches automatically at fixed times—for example, turning on the light at 07:00 on weekdays or activating the "Night" scene every evening at 22:30. This guide shows you the way using the "Good Morning" appointment as an example.
What you need
- Revotion app 1.2.14 or newer and BRAIN firmware 2.4.0 or newer.
- A connection to the BRAIN to create or edit appointments.
- A BRAIN with a valid time. It gets it itself via mobile network, WiFi, or GPS.
- At least one device or scene that the appointment should control.
Open weekly plan
Open the side menu using the three lines at the top left and tap Weekly plan.
The entry is in the "System" section, under "Automations" and "Scenes".
If the entry is missing, the BRAIN firmware is too old. Update the BRAIN and it will appear.
Create new appointment
You see your plan with the appointments for today.
Tap the Plus at the top right.
The BRAIN storage bar shows how many appointments the BRAIN already holds. At ten, the storage is full. Delete an appointment to create a new one.
If your plan is still empty, tap Create first appointment instead.
Set name and time
In the editor, you set when the appointment falls and what happens then.
- ① Name: Give the appointment a name with up to 20 characters, for example "Good morning".
- ② Time: Set the hour and minute using the two wheels, in the example 07:00. The default is 08:00.
Choose weekdays and repetition
Scroll down a bit in the editor.
- ① Weekdays: Tap the days on which the appointment should occur. The buttons Daily, Mon–Fri, and Sat + Sun select the usual groups with one tap. At least one day must be selected.
- ② Repetition: Every week, Every 2 weeks, or Once. More on this in the "Repetitions at a glance" section.
- ③ Time period: The defaults are From now on and No end date. Tap one of the two lines to choose a date for the start or end. The X next to it removes the date again.
- ④ Preview: Summarizes your selection in one sentence, in the example "Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 07:00". Check here that everything is correct.
Add action
Tap Add action under What happens. You have three options:
- Select device: Turns on a single device or light and adjusts its values if needed.
- Activate scene: Turns one of your scenes on or off.
- Rule: Activates or deactivates one of your automations.
- In the example, you tap Select device and then tap Ambient living room.
Configure device
Set what the appointment does with the device.
- ① State: On or Off. Don't switch leaves the device as it is and only adjusts the values below.
- ② Light mood: Enable Color or Brightness and set the value; in the example, 50%. Whatever you don't set, the device keeps.
- ③ Tap Save.
Save appointment
The action now appears under What happens. The counter next to it shows how many of the five actions are in use.
- ① Tapping the action opens it for editing. The X removes it.
- ② Via Add action you can add more devices, scenes, or rules—up to five per appointment.
- ③ Tap Save appointment. The appointment is now in the BRAIN and appears in the schedule.
Reading the schedule
The weekly schedule always shows one day with its appointments on a timeline.
- ① Next: Shows the appointment that comes next. This is also where you see how many appointments have been executed since your last visit.
- ② Brain memory: Used and free slots for appointments.
- ③ Week: Use the arrows to browse upcoming weeks, up to a year ahead. Back to this week brings you back.
- ④ Days: Tap a day to see its appointments. The dots below show how many appointments fall on that day.
- ⑤ Switch: Turns off an appointment without deleting it. A switched-off appointment appears faded and won't be executed.
Edit or delete an appointment
Tap All appointments. The list shows every appointment with time and days, regardless of the selected day.
- ① Pencil: Opens the appointment in the editor. You can also do this by tapping the appointment card in the schedule.
- ② Trash: Deletes the appointment after confirmation. In the editor, you'll find Delete appointment at the bottom.
Duplicate an appointment
Press and hold an appointment card in the plan. A menu opens with the appointment name.
Tap Duplicate. The copy has the same name as the original with the addition "(Copy)" and can then be changed independently.
This is handy when the same sequence should run at a second time. Via Delete appointment you can remove the appointment directly from this menu.
Repetitions at a glance
- Every week: The appointment falls on the selected weekdays, week after week.
- Every 2 weeks: Use minus and plus to set the interval, from 2 to 8 weeks. The date at From determines which day the appointment starts and which week is counted from.
- Once: Each selected weekday falls exactly once, in the week starting from the selected date. With "Sat + Sun" the appointment falls on that one Saturday and Sunday. A time in the past cannot be saved.
- Time period: For "Every week" and "Every 2 weeks" you can set a start and end date, for example for the duration of a trip. After the end date, the appointment will no longer be executed.
The BRAIN's clock
- Appointments run in the BRAIN, not in the app. They are also executed when your phone is not nearby.
- The BRAIN gets the time itself via mobile network, WiFi, or GPS. The app does not set the clock.
- If the BRAIN has no time, the weekly schedule shows the message "BRAIN is missing the time". Appointments will not be executed until then, and you cannot create new ones. Connect the BRAIN once to mobile network or WiFi, or position the vehicle so it has GPS reception.
- The message "Time is estimated" means: The BRAIN is currently calculating its clock. Appointments run, but may be off until a time source is available again.
- The BRAIN handles the switch between daylight saving time and standard time automatically.
Good to know
- If two appointments set the same devices at the same time, the app will warn you when saving about a possible overlap. The last executed appointment wins.
- If power saving mode is active, the BRAIN sleeps intermittently and might miss an appointment. The app will warn you when saving.
- Without connection to the BRAIN, the schedule remains readable and appointments continue to run. You can only change them again once you have a connection.
- An appointment applies in the time zone where you set it. If you're traveling in a different time zone, this is shown on the appointment. The next time you save, the app will adjust it to the current time zone.
- Pull the schedule down to refresh the status from the BRAIN.
- If something should happen not at a fixed time but at a measured value, for example when the battery is low, use an automation.
