# Launcher Update via Browser

## Why this guide?

On some displays, the update **cannot** be installed via the button in Settings. The progress bar runs to 100%, but then nothing happens and the button appears again.

The browser method bypasses this. It takes around five minutes and only needs to be done **once**: after that, all future updates will work automatically again through Settings.

**Your data remains intact.** This is an update, not a fresh installation — your settings, paired devices, and configurations remain unchanged.

## What you need

The display must be connected to **WiFi**

About **500 MB of free storage** on the device

Approximately **5 minutes** of time

A stable connection — the file is around 180 MB

## Step by Step

### Open Browser

Open **Apps** in the menu on your display, then open **Chrome**.

Tap **Apps** in the menu.

Then open **Chrome**.

### Enter Address

Tap the address bar at the top and enter this address:

update.revotion.tech

Then tap the suggested result **update.revotion.tech**.

Tap the **address bar**.

Type the address, then tap the **suggestion**.

### Confirm Download

The browser warns that the file cannot be downloaded securely. Select **Keep** — the file is from Revotion.

Tap **Keep**.

The download takes one to five minutes depending on your WiFi.

### Open File

After completion, tap the download notification. Alternatively, open the **Files** app from **Apps** and tap the file 1.2.11\_115\_launcher.apk under **Downloads**.

Tap the **.apk file**.

### Allow Installation (first time only)

The first time, Android will notify you that unknown apps from this source cannot be installed. This is normal.

1.  Tap **Settings**
2.  Turn on **Allow from this source**
3.  Go back using the back button

Turn on **Allow from this source**.

The installation prompt will appear again.

### Install

The prompt appears again. Tap **Update** and wait for the installation to complete. This takes about ten to twenty seconds. Then tap **Open**.

Tap **Update**.

### Done

Check in Settings under _Update app_ to see if the new version is shown there. From now on, the display will notify you automatically when future updates are available.

## If something doesn't work

"App was not installed"

Usually there's not enough storage space. Delete unnecessary downloads and try again. If the message appears immediately without waiting, please contact support — the downloaded file doesn't match your installed version.

The download breaks off or gets stuck

Check your WiFi connection and restart the download. If reception is weak, try moving closer to the router.

Nothing happens when I tap the file

Open the **Files** app, navigate to the **Downloads** folder, and tap the file there.

The installation prompt doesn't return after I allow the source

Just tap the downloaded file again.
