How does REMOTE work with REVOTION?

The REMOTE functionality in REVOTION is an internet-based solution. With the BRAIN, the integrated SIM card establishes the connection via LTE-M, and where LTE-M is not available, via NB-IoT. This allows you to control functions of your REVOTION system from anywhere. The data from the modules is only processed once you have activated REMOTE.

With the BRAIN Lite, REMOTE runs over the vehicle's internet connection, such as via WiFi or a vehicle router. The BRAIN can also additionally connect to a WiFi network. As long as a connection exists, remote access works from anywhere.

To use remote control, you activate it in the app via Side Menu > REMOTE > Activate Now. As long as you are within Bluetooth range of your vehicle, the app continues to use Bluetooth and only switches to remote access when you are further away.

Costs

For normal use, REMOTE is permanently free, with no subscription and no contract. Normal use means, for example, controlling your heating remotely several times a day or checking your vehicle status. Remote access via WiFi is always free.

You don't need your own SIM card or a mobile phone contract. There are no contracts for private customers for LTE-M and NB-IoT. That's why the SIM cards of all BRAINs run on a shared data pool from REVOTION.

Countries

Via the mobile network, REMOTE works in 48 countries and regions, including 26 of the 27 EU states, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the United Kingdom. Data Protection

For REMOTE, you don't create an account and you don't enter your name or email address. When you activate it, the BRAIN registers anonymously with our server and receives a digital key, which the app uses to establish the connection. Our backend is self-developed and runs on servers in Germany.

You can deactivate REMOTE at any time. After 14 days, the associated remote data will be deleted.
