How do I update my NODEs®?

You update your NODEs® directly in the REVOTION App – in three steps either manually or fully automatically in the background. The images show in red what you need to tap.

Manual

You search for updates yourself and start them whenever it suits you.

Automatic

From BRAIN® 2.2.1 onwards, the system handles it automatically in the background.

Manual Update

1

Open Configuration

Tap the menu icon in the top left to open the side menu. In the System section, select the Configuration entry.

Access Updates

You'll land in the My REVOTION® Network overview. At the top you'll see your BRAIN® with the number of connected NODEs®.

Under System Settings, tap the Updates tile – it's on the left in the second row.

Search and Update

1 First tap Check for Updates – this checks whether new firmware is available.

2 If an update is ready, you install it on BRAIN® and NODEs® with Update.

The process can take a few minutes. You'll see the progress directly in this dialog as a progress bar with counter – you do not need to restart the app.

Keep the system powered during the update and stay in range until it reports completion.

Automatic Updates

from BRAIN® Version 2.2.1 onwards

Enable the Automatic Updates toggle in the same dialog – BRAIN® will then fetch new firmware automatically as soon as it's available and a connection exists, and install it in the background. You typically won't notice anything.

You can disable the toggle at any time. Without it, you decide on each update yourself.

Note: The ambient lighting may flicker briefly during the update. This is normal and not an error.

Update Log

You can read what happened during an update at any time: expand the Show Logs section in the Updates dialog. There you'll find the update process logs and the history of changes made.

You'll find the same information via the side menu under Update History.
